An under-ceiling unit mounts openly below the ceiling and blows horizontally along the room. It suits long halls, shops, classrooms and offices where there is no suspended ceiling for a cassette and a wall unit would not cover the area. Models range from 18000 to 48000 BTU with wide louvre angles and a quiet mode.

With a suspended ceiling – cassette, for better distribution and an invisible look. Without one – ceiling, which mounts openly and covers a similar area.
Some models are universal (ceiling/floor) and can be mounted low on a wall as a floor unit. Check the specification of the model.
Larger models throw air 10–15 m, enough for long halls and shops.
